"I can't think of any other modern example of a presidential candidate hawking an array of goods for their private benefit," Fischer said. The website for the Bibles says it has no link to Trump's campaign. It instead uses Trump's name, likeness and image under paid license from a company called CIC Ventures LLC. Lessig noted that Trump's business moves do not appear to be violating campaign ethics or financial rules. A Trump campaign spokesman did not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment.

He says things like the “God Bless America” Bible overlook the many, many Christians who do not agree with Trump’s politics or the blending of patriotism with faith. He was among the imprint’s writers who tried to discourage them from publishing the “God Bless the USA” Bible when the idea was first introduced. “I am reminded of how we closed every Marine Corps boot camp chapel service with Lee Greenwood’s ‘God Bless the USA’,” he told CNN. The FAQ section of the “God Bless America” Bible website clarifies that no proceeds from the sales of the Bible will go towards Trump’s presidential campaign. CNN has reached out to EliteSource Pro, the marketing company behind the “God Bless the USA” Bible, for more information.

Former President Donald Trump can now add “Bible Salesman” to his resume, after he filmed what amounts to an infomercial for a $59.99 version of the Good Book. "Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country,” Trump said in a video posted to his Truth Social account this week. “And I truly believe that we need to bring them back, and we have to bring them back fast. “I think it's one of the biggest problems we have,” he said, adding that he has “many” Bibles and that the Bible is his favorite book. CNN —Are you looking for a gold-colored pair of high-top sneakers that will show your devotion to former President Donald Trump? These latest Trump offerings may not seem destined to have more success than Trump’s failed business ventures, such as his Trump Vodka and Trump Steaks. In the fourth quarter of 2023, Trump’s presidential campaign raised a paltry $19 million — down significantly from the $25 million the campaign raised in the third quarter of 2023. (By contrast, President Joe Biden’s campaign raised $33 million in the fourth quarter of 2023.) (Incidentally, the website that sells “President Trump’s Official Sneaker” does not disclose where the shoes are manufactured.)

CNN —Former President Donald Trump on Saturday launched a sneaker line, a day after he and his companies were ordered by a judge to pay nearly $355 million in his New York civil fraud trial. The former president unveiled “Trump Sneakers” at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia. Trump Sneakers are not designed, manufactured, distributed or sold by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or principals. On Thursday, a New York state judge confirmed that the former president’s criminal trial in a hush money case will begin March 25. A day later, Trump and his companies were ordered to pay nearly $355 million for fraudulently inflating the values of his properties.

If anyone was waiting for the other shoe to drop in the upcoming presidential race, former President Donald Trump just did, launching his own line of tennis shoes on Saturday. "I've wanted to do this for a long time," Trump said when he announced the launch of a sneaker line at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia. In his brief remarks at the sneaker launch, Trump indicated the line could be an effort to reach out to younger supporters, saying, "We're going to turn this country around fast. The line, called Trump Sneakers, is available for preorder online. Sneaker Con, the venue where Trump debuted the sneaker collection, is an event that started in 2009 and has become one of the premiere events within the broader sneaker culture that has exploded in recent decades.

The website says it has no connection to Trump's campaign, though Trump campaign officials promoted the appearance in online posts. Trump's appearance was met with clashing boos from his detractors and chants of “USA!” from supporters who arrived at the sneaker event decked out in Trump gear. The attendees skewed younger and more diverse than Trump's usual rally crowds and some black attendees were seen leaving as Trump spoke. Trump's campaign is hoping he will be able to win over more young and minority voters, particularly young Black men, in a likely rematch against President Joe Biden in November. The new sneaker website says it is run by CIC Ventures LLC, a company that Trump reported owning in his 2023 financial disclosure.

If you rode your Big Tech winners into the new year, now might be the time to consider whittling down a few of those overweight positions. "It's the only way to consistently buy low and sell high, but no one ever wants to do it," duQuesnay said. He noted that the iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) is a good way to get broad exposure to the space. The Federal Reserve's rate-hiking campaign made yields on an array of assets, ranging from Treasurys to money market funds, attractive.
